Meet Marie

I am an Impressionist Artist, using short brush strokes of bright colors in immediate juxtaposition to represent the effect of light on objects. I love painting "En plein air" (Painting Outside) and using relative color with paintings becoming clearer from further away.
Over the last 30 years my work has appeared in many places. I have been featured in publications such as Southern Living, Chico’s catalog, promotions by the city of Alexandria Virginia and Happenings Magazine and in many shops including The Edison Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Florida, Barn in Bloom in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Spruce Home and Company in Concord, New Hampshire, Art Beat Studios in Fort Myers, Florida and countless galleries throughout Southwest Florida. Currently my custom furniture, murals and paintings are with collectors from New England to Belize and sold in galleries in New Hampshire, Punta Gorda, and Fort Myers Florida. |

During my classes you will learn about fundamentals of composition and structure, color creating mood, mixing paints and you will be assisted on how to make a palette that speaks to you. Classes are for all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. My students are inspired by their surroundings. Each venue has a unique style to inspire.
Teaching painting classes at the magnificent Edison Ford Winter Estates is a delight. I teach Silk Scarf Painting, Floral Painting, Furniture Painting, Rain Barrel and Floor Cloth Painting. Classes will also be at my new studio at Azaleas on the Corner in Downtown Fort Myers, FL. Sign up for mailing list to be notified. My summer program at Barns and Bloom in Merrimac, New Hampshire brings the New England aspect to further the inspiration and surroundings of my students. |
In summer you will find me in Merrimac, New Hampshire at Barns and Bloom teaching workshops and presenting live paintings, surrounding by lush New England Landscape, on Friday and Saturday nights.
Being an artist is a solitary profession, my classes and live paintings allow me to connect with people from all over the world. It is such a delight to talk with people and share our adventures through my workshops and live paintings. |
